THE HEAVEN SWORD & DRAGON SABER 2000
Damian Lau as Cheung Chui San Michelle Mai Suet as Yan So So Lawrence Ng as Cheung Mo Kei Gigi Lai Chi as Chiu Man Charmaine Sheh Si Man as Chow Chi Yerk Liz Kong as Siu Chiu Cherie Chan as Chu Yee (Ah Lei) Eddie Cheung as Yeung Siu Joyce Tang Mei Ling as Kei Hu Fu and Yeung But Fui Edward Mok as Yan Lei Ting
This is the best "Heavenly Sword Dragon Saber" (HSDS) version I have seen so far. Though it lacks some elements and the flashy kung fu sometimes gets on my nerves, it's still my favourite. I think this is the best version of HSDS yet.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF HSDS 2000
This story revolves around Cheung Mo Kei, a caring, strong-willed, powerful, and attractive young man. He is the son of Cheung Chui San and Yan So So. He has the strength of both his parents, but he is not as witty as his mother. The four girls that fall in love with him prove that he is really 'all-that'.
The four women that love him are Chiu Man, Chow Chi Yerk, Chu Yee, and Siu Chiu. In the beginning, Cheung Mo Kei falls in love with the Mongolian princess Chiu Man. Chow Chi Yerk, Cheung Mo Kei's childhood friend, is a bit over-protective of him and jealous because she knows that Cheung Mo Kei loves Chiu Man. Cheung Mo Kei promised Chiu Man to give her three requests of anything she wanted. The first one she made was to see the Heaven Sword. That request of granted. Siu Chiu, his loyal servant and maid, loved him very much as well, but she had to go back to Persia to be the Princess that she was. That night, Cheung Mo Kei was very depressed and lonely without Siu Chiu. Chow Chi Yerk got so jealous and angry that she finally decided to take action. So one night, she drugged them, killed Chu Yee, who is Cheung Mo Kei's cousin, throws Chiu Man onto a boat with a big bag, and steals the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. After she does this, she cuts off a chunk of her own hair and pretends she was drugged too. However, she put the blame on Chiu Man and said she was the one who committed all these crimes. Also, Cheung Mo Kei's Yi Fu (Godfather) was kidnapped.
Cheung Mo Kei was led to believe that Chiu Man had betrayed him and never really loved him. He even heard her say that she was using him when she was kidnapped by a bunch of men who wanted the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. Cheung Mo Kei was very depressed at this time. He questioned Chiu Man and asked her why she did what she did and whether what she said about him was true. Chiu Man told him she was just lying her way out and that she really loved him, and that she never killed Chu Yee or stole the swords. Cheung Mo Kei obviously didn't believe her because of the persuasive Chow Chi Yerk who convinced him that Chiu Man did all those horrible things. Chow Chi Yerk also made him promise her that he will kill her if he sees her. Cheung Mo Kei didn't have the heart to kill Chiu Man because he loved her too much. Chiu Man pressed Cheung Mo Kei to kill her if he really believed that she was the killer. Instead of killing her, Cheung Mo Kei injured her in the shoulder with his knife and left.
Afterwards, her agreed to marry Chow Chi Yerk. However, Chiu Man is the only one who knows of Chow Chi Yerk's evil deeds. On the day of the wedding, Chiu Man came. She told him that she knew where his Yi Fu (Godfather) was, and said if he wanted to know, he had to come with her instead of marrying Chi Yerk. She also used her second request to ask him not to marry Chi Yerk. Chi Yerk got so mad that she burst out of her wedding gown and said if Cheung Mo Kei left with Chiu Man, she would no longer be a part of his life anymore. With regret, Cheung Mo Kei left with Chiu Man to find his Yi Fu. Chow Chi Yerk was very angry by now. She had sacrificed so many things for him and went again her Master's wishes by being with him, and this is what she got. She went back to Au Mei and became master of Au Mei, just like her Master wished. She left Au Mei before because she loved Mo Kei and wanted to be with him, but since he rejected her, she returned to Au Mei. There, she showed them her true powers.
It is revealed that when the two swords clash together, inside will be the secret to a very powerful kung fu called "9 Yum Jan Ging". This is the kung fu that Chow Chi Yerk learns, and ends up being better than Mo Kei. Later on, she marries Song Ching Su, the son of Mo Kei's good friend. She does this to make him jealous, but Mo Kei makes it clear to her that he loves only Chiu Man and she shouldn't marry a person she doesn't love just to make him jealous.
She marries him anyway, and together, they enter the fighting competition. Whoever wins will get Cheung Mo Kei's Yi Fu (Godfather) and the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. But people don't know that Chow Chi Yerk already has the Heaven Sword and Dragon Sabre. Ching Su gets hurt in a battle against his father and loses all his kung fu. Then Chow Chi Yerk fights his father and wants to kill him for hurting Ching Su, but then Cheung Mo Kei saves him. Chi Yerk and Mo Kei fight, and eventually, Chi Yerk wins. She doesn't kill him though. She spares his life, because she did love him, and left with Ching Su. Ching Su loved Chi Yerk a lot, but she only had room in her heart for Mo Kei. No matter how good he treated her or loved her, she still only loved Mo Kei. She took Ching Su home. Now, she was a bit far beyond crazy. She started seeing the ghost of Chu Yee. At this point, she went crazy. But it just so happened that Chu Yee didn't die, but survived. Chiu Man tried to keep Chu Yee away from Mo Kei was she was afraid another girl would want to steal Mo Kei away from her.
That night Chu Yee went to look for Mo Kei, she bumped into her father, but ran away. Because her father killed her mother so many years ago and also treated her badly, she was angry at him. He was angry at himself for treating them that way, and wanted to start over with his daughter. She wouldn't see him at that time, so he told her he will wait for her to show up, and that he wants to see her again. Chiu Man locks Chu Yee up in a room where no one can find her because she doesn't want Mo Kei was find her. That day, there was a fire and Chu Yee died. At that time, Mo Kei received news that Chu Yee was dead and that Chiu Man did it. He got angry, but then he found out that Chow Chi Yerk was going crazy and was injured, so he quickly went to see her first. He spent a lot of time with her, and Chiu Man got angry and ran away. When Mo Kei went to look for Chiu Man, he found Chu Yee instead. She explained to him about how she never died, and rejected him. So Chiu Man got it all wrong. Chu Yee never wanted to steal Mo Kei away, but that she wanted to reject him and tell him that they are good cousins, but she doesn't love him the way all the other girls do.
Later on, Chow Chi Yerk kidnaps Chiu Man and demands Mo Kei to leave her, or else she'll kill Chiu Man in front of him. Mo Kei says that he loves all four of them. Chu Yee is his dearest cousin, Chow Chi Yerk has sacrificed so much for him, Siu Chiu was unselfish and loyal to him, but he loved Chiu Man the most. He said he couldn't live without her. At this point, Chow Chi Yerk reached to kill Chiu Man, but then found out her powers were all lost. She screamed and ran off.
It seems as if Chow Chi Yerk had too much power and had so much pain in her heart that she lost all her memory and kung fu. From this time one, Mo Kei and Chiu Man left Ming Gao and Chiu Man stopped being the Mongolian Princess. Together, they left to see the wonders of the world. At the end, they came back to where Chow Chi Yerk and Mo Kei first met. He felt comfortable here. They met here when they were just kids, and now he didn't even know where she was. Chiu Man said he can think of Chow Chi Yerk whenever he likes, but he's not allowed to tell her or let her know he's thinking about her. At the docks, they find Chi Yerk and her husband, Ching Su. They are both now mere people who have no kung fu. They are just a peaceful couple. Ching Su lost his kung fu in the battle against his father, and Chi Yerk lost both her memory and her kung fu. They are very happy together. Chi Yerk doesn't remember Mo Kei, but she says this place makes her feel nice and warm. Mo Kei says he wants to find a cure to give Chi Yerk's memory back, but Chiu Man says that Chi Yerk is now living a happy life, and there's no point on bringing back all the bad memories. Chi Yerk and Ching Su lived happily together because Ching Su finally got the love of Chi Yerk since she lost her memory anyway. Chu Yee now has a good relationship with her father since she didn't die anyway. Siu Chiu is with her mother and also, she is the Princess of her country. Yeung Siu and the rest of Ming Gao are peaceful and safe. But Fui and Yan Lei Ting are together. Chiu Man and Cheung Mo Kei are together, and living happily as well.
As for But Fui's part, I didn't include it in the summary. Kei Hu Fu fell in love with Yeung Siu, but her friend, Yan Lei Ting, also loved her very much. Kei Hu Fu betrayed her people and left with Yeung Siu. Together, they had a daughter which they named But Fui. After that, Kei Hu Fu died. Yeung Siu raised But Fui, who looked a lot like her mother. Yan Lei Ting later sees But Fui and thinks it's Kei Hu Fu, but then finds out it's her daughter instead. For a while, But Fui spent some time with Lei Ting, and they fell in love. Yan Lei Ting denies his love for But Fui because he says he is old enough to be her father, and Yeung Siu doesn't want them together either. He thinks Lei Ting is trying to get revenge on him because he 'stole' Hu Fu from him. But But Fui and Lei Ting get together anyway when Lei Ting finally admits he loves her. Together, they married and But Fui was pregnant with his child. Yeung Siu also accepted them.
Characters
Lawrence Ng as Cheung Mo Kei- Although he isn't extremely handsome or GREAT looking, he's still pretty good-looking, not ugly at least. He's very good to watch as Cheung Mo Kei. He's really good at acting clueless, sad, dumb, angry, anything. There were some times when he was expressionless, but I really liked him as Cheung Mo Kei. After I watched this series, I started to like him. A lot of people complained about him being Cheung Mo Kei, but I think he was great and he proves that talent doesn't always have to to come with looks. Comparing to the other HSDS versions, such as the Adam Cheng version, Lawrence is better. Same with the Tony Leung version, although I liked Tony Leung just as much as I liked Lawrence.
Gigi Lai as Chiu Man- Gigi could get really irritating in this series, but she is just doing her role. She was excellent as Chiu Man, and her role in this series proves that TVB should give her more roles. She can play any role, and she clearly showed her acting skills in this series. Not to mention, she looked extremely pretty in the Mongolian outfit as well as the white outfit she wore near the end that made her look like some sort of goddess. Overall, Gigi was excellent as Chiu Man, possibly my favourite Chiu Man. I watched a bit of HSDS 2003 with Alec Su and Alyssia Chia, and I must say that Alyssia sure looked very pretty, and she's a great actress, but she didn't portray the character of Chiu Man as well as Gigi did. Her Chiu was very whiny and a fool for love, but Gigi shows that she can be stubborn, strong, and caring towards Cheung Mo Kei. So far, I would say Gigi is the best Chiu Man.
Charmaine Sheh as Chow Chi Yerk- What can I say? Charmaine did a very bad job in Flying Fox Snowy Mountain, or maybe it was just her character. She proved herself in this series. In the beginning, she was a soft, quiet, and extremely nice girl. In the middle, she acted great as the persuasive and jealous girl. Then at the end, she really acted like she was mental and crazy. She didn't make me cry, but she DID make me feel incredibly sorry for her. Overall, I think Charmaine was ONE of the best Chow Chi Yerk's because she displayed all of Chow Chi Yerk's characters in this series (evil, crazy, nice, caring, quiet, strong, stubborn, beautiful..) Not to mention, Charmaine was very pretty! If you watch her more recent series, such as PITNOL or Country Spirit, you will see her acting has improved even more.
Liz Kong as Siu Chiu- She is not my favourite Siu Chiu, but she was okay. Ifelt she did portray the character of Siu Chiu by being quiet, unselfish, etc. She wasn't all that pretty, but she was very cute. Her acting needs some improvement, but I think that she was all right to look at and watch. You will find that she is sometimes expressionless.
Cherie Chan as Chu Yee- Cherie Chan's character was pretty annoying in this series, and she was ugly half the series. She was very pretty in the end, though. I think she portrayed Chu Yee perfectly. Her relationship with her father in this series was very touching.
Damian Lau as Cheung Chui San- As usual, he delivered his performance. His love story with Yan So So was very touching and interesting. I enjoyed seeing their on-screen chemistry. Overall, he did a good job.
Michelle Mai Suet as Yan So So- She looked very pretty in this series. Like Damian, she acted very well and portrayed the character of Yan So So flawlessly. Yan So So was supposed to be a smart and pretty girl, and that's what Michelle did in the series.
Eddie Cheung as Yeung Siu- He was one of my favourite characters in the series. Eddie Cheung is a great actor, and he continues to be great. He doesn't look too much like a Yeung Siu, but compared to the other versions, he's much better. He's full of talent, can act really well, and was great in this series.
Edward Mok as Yan Lei Ting- I didn't see much of this guy on screen, but I think he was really good in this series. He was very playful with But Fui, and was also serious and could actually cry. I think he should get more roles because he can actually act. Overall, good job!
Joyce Tang as Kei Hu Fu and Yeung But Fui- Joyce Tang should REALLY start getting main roles. What's wrong with her? Nothing! She's pretty, cute, and can act any role. In here, she played Hu Fu and Hu Fu's daughter, But Fui. As the mother, she displayed her character as mature, serious, and caring. As But Fui, she acted very immature and cute, yet caring and smart. I think Joyce Tang did an excellent job, and I hoped to have seen more of her in this series! But she didn't appear as much as I'd hoped, so I really hope that she gets more roles in series.

THE HEAVEN SWORD & DRAGON SABER 1986
The 1986 version of "Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber" (YiTin) is likely my favourite sword-fighting serial of all time. I enjoyed the characterization of all the major and most of the minor characters (Cheung Sam Fung and his six disciples were particularly memorable both in of themselves and also for the sparkling chemistry/'brotherhood' between them). Simon Yam made for a very dashing Cheung Chiu San, he played the honorable but kind, righteous but not vindictive hero well. And his six Mo Dong brothers, who together were the "Seven Swordsmen of Mo Dong" were one of the highlights of the show for me. The seven were each given three-dimensional characters and they were played out wonderfully--especially the level-headed Mok Lin Chow (second disciple) and Yan Lei Teng (the soft-hearted sixth disciple who would later marry the daughter of the woman he mourned most of his adult life for). Carol Cheng plays Yan So So with finesse. Both she and Simon bring a fair amount of experience to their roles and their level of comfort showed well. Many shows cast inexperienced actors/actresses in minor roles that makes for an awkward introduction or (worse) an unbelievable background to the main plot. This version of Yitin does a remarkable job of assembling an experienced cast to do justice to the novel's many complex and sympathetic characters.
The best developed and best played character of the Mo Dong seven was undoubtedly the dignified and admiration-inspiring Song Yuen Kiu (eldest disciple). The actor took his character flawlessly from being the wise leader of the seven, mindful of chivalric codes (he, of all the leaders of the combined 'righteous' Sects hesitated to order his brothers to attack the then unknown Cheung Mo Kei who was injured and defending the Ming Sect on Kwong Meng Deng) to the broken-hearted father who knelt to his Sifu to apologize for bringing up a traitorous son. I think the scene when he kneels and apologizes to Cheung Sam Fung for his failing to bring up his son well is a great example of minor-character development that this version of Yitin does so well. The other minor character who deserves mention is the Mongolian leader who is Chiu Man's father. He has perhaps 4 or 5 dozen lines in all of the series, but manages to bring out his affection for his daughter, his trust and respect for her, and finally his stricken feelings when she leaves him and (effectively) her people for Mo Kei. Few minor characters manage to make your feel a twinge on their behalf like he does. His last scene, where he turns away from Chiu Man and walks away without turning back is very moving.
We are also introduced to the parent generation part, to Golden-Maned Lion- Tse Sun ... who later becomes sworn brothers with Cheung Chiu San and Mo Kei's beloved godfather. The veteran actor (Tsang Kong) does a wonderful job of Tse Sun - from his youth as Seng Kuan's disciple, to his fury and murderous madness when he discovers that Seng Kuan has raped his wife before killing her and his entire family. The streak of goodness in him that leads to his development of a strong friendship with Chiu San, and finally to his repenting his murdering ways in his many years on the Fire-Ice Island is brought out well in this complex character. All of which makes his turning to Buddhism in the finale one of the deep and feeling resolutions of the series.
Of the minor characters in the 2nd part of the story, the Ming Sect members are the most prominent. Special mention to Chow Din, the happy-go-lucky, cheerfully foul-mouthed sidekick who is always fondly playing coarse, blustering jokster to Yueng Siu's "Straight guy". Most memorable of the Ming Sect followers is Wai Yat Siu- the "Green Vampire Bat". His creative solutions to many situations were impressive of themselves, yet it is his witty lines and obvious loyalty to Mo Kei make him the most likable.
In spite of the strong minor character portrayal, it is truly the lead actors/actresses who carry this show.
Tony Leung's portrayal of Cheung Mo Kei I consider little less than genius. Indeed (as many have noted) he did downplay the part, but I thought that his restrained portrayal of Cheung Mo Kei was not only appropriate to the character's personality (Mo Kei is a simple fellow who only wants to do what is right and literally has his martial arts skills fall into his lap by accident) but -even more spectacular- his downplaying of Mo Kei makes his dramatic scenes more dramatic. Of particular note is his quiet defense of the Ming Sect at Kwong Meng Deng, and his acceptance of his beloved godfather leaving him for the solitude of the monastry at the end after he had fought long and hard to be reunited with Tse Sun. As a romantic hero, his chemistry with Kitty Lai is unparalleled--charming and playful balanced with moving and dramatic. Notable scenes include the short flashback where Mo Kei recalls he and Chiu Man playing "catch" on the island they were temporarily stranded on, and (even more) their understated affection in the temple after Chiu Man collapses from a wound by Chi Yuerk, or something as simple as an impish grin as he surprised Siu Chew from behind a straw hat. These linger on years after the plot details have faded.
This is a dignified, yet moving Mo Kei that Jet Li or Ma Jing Tao (in the only 2 other versions of Yitian I've seen) didn't quite equal. Jet Li's Mo Kei was ambitious and charming and he knew himself to be all that. Ma Jing Tao's Mo Kei was playful if given to melodrama. Tony Leung's Mo Kei was earnest, blithely unconscious of his charms and -most of all- wanted very little of the world but to be left alone. And Mo Kei's very name echoes this sentiment as his parent's and godfather's wish for him not have to be wary and guarded of people. A desire to be apart from the yun yuen (literally "debts and vengences") of the martial arts world is a steady theme in the series: His parent's union could only be on the isolated Ice-Fire Island, his godfather finding peace at last in 'leaving behind' the world. From his childhood to the resolution of the show, Mo Kei is sympathetic to the Buddhist idea that the struggles of the mundane world do not suit a truly peace-embracing soul.
Kitty Lai as Chiu Man is in her element: playful and wilful, yet powerful and sharp and street-smart, Kitty is by turns, the dashing Princess, the wilful woman, the light-hearted friend, the self-sacrificing romantic interest. And Tony played right up to her by being bewildered and beguiled, in turns, by her many facets. Some exquisite scenes here are given to the romantic development between them, with clever, if sincere, lines from Chiu Man in counterpoint to Mo Kei's endearing straightforwardness. Chiu Man is a complex characer who manages to be ruthless and kind, perceptive and yet wilfully unheeding at points--she is given some character development seperate from her relationaship with Mo Kei (which is not always true of romantic interests in swordfighting series!) Her relationship to her father and her conflict of loyalties between Mo Kei and her people/ her father are central to how she grows throughout the series. Sheren Tsang as Chow Chi Yuerk is a tame choice by comparison, since Chi Yuerk does extreme things one would not expect of the soft portrayal of her by Sheren. Still, she suited her role as the torn disciple of the hard and merciless Miet Juet and is entirely believable as the kind-hearted young disciple of the Ngoh Mei Sect that Wuji ditters over. Her transition to the hardened, spurned priestress is not as easy for Sheren, she seemed to struggle with the hard edge that her character was supposed to acquire.
Siu Chew (played by Maggie Siu) is the person who Jin Yong liked best of Mo Kei's 'romantic interest possibles' because Jin Yong himself didn't care much for the hardened leadership personalities that Chiu Man and Chi Yuerk display (see the epilogue to his novel). I'll reserve my judgment on that particular comment, but in terms of how Siu Chew appears in the show, it certainly seems at some point that Siu Chew is the person that Mo Kei would have liked to like if circumstances had permitted. Siu Chew is the mysterious but steadfastly loyal 'maid' from the Ming Sect who attaches herself to Mo Kei as a personal servant, and who turns out to be much more than she appears. She is given a mild but likable portrayal in the series, has some character development when she discovers her long-lost mother and has a few lovely scenes when she decides that for the good of both Mo Kei and their companions and her mother, she must leave him for good. The understated farewell scene between her and Mo Kei was short but leaves a deep impression.
Overall, compared to the other of the Condor series, Jin Yong himself admits that Mo Kei might be the least admirable of the lead characters (again see the epilogue to Jin Yong's novel)... lacking the steadfast goodness of Kwok Cheng and the dashing intelligence and loyalty of Yeung Guo. Mo Kei is indecisive in romantic matters and deferred to Yeung Siu in many of the leadership matters as well. Yet I venture to say that of the 3 of them, Mo Kei moves me most for being most realistic and relatable to. A normal person in an extraodinary world--that of Jin Yong's swordfighting novels!"

PLAIN LOVE 1
Starring: Kathy Chow Hoi Mei, Gallen Law Ka Leung, Eddie Cheung Siu Fai
This is one of TVB's rare series of pure romance. This time, TVB broke away from its tradition of portraying the rich, comfortable lives of people living in city and gave us an insight into the struggling life of the farmer, especially the tenant farmer during the period of World War II in China.
Eddie Cheung is the second son of a rich family in the village. Kathy Chow is the servant in this family. Gallen Law and his father are tenant farmers for Eddie's family. Gallen's sister also works in the house with Kathy. Eddie goes into the city to study medicine. After he returns, his attraction for Kathy grows stronger than before as they practically grew up together. Kathy is also in love with Eddie, I mean, who would not fall in love with the character played by Eddie Cheung, an educated, compassionate, and caring man who would prepare to lose everything in order to be with the one he loves. To complicate thing further, Eddie's older brother likes Kathy because she is pretty and he attempts to rape Kathy one time.
Eddie's family objects to the relationship between Eddie and Kathy because she is a servant. So they plan to elope but are caught. During the chase, Kathy falls into the river and Eddie thinks that Kathy has drowned so he returns to the city heart-broken. He does not know that Kathy is saved by Gallen's family. To prevent further problems, Eddie's family forces Kathy to marry Gallen. They are servants so they do not have any right about their lives. Things become complicated from that point onward. Gallen is a strong, stubborn man who sees the injustice in working for Eddie's family. He wants a plot of land of his own. His sister, who always wants a comfortable life is seduced by Eddie's older brother and is then pregnant. Gallen's friend, another tenant farmer, is in love with Gallen's sister. The series is interesting with the subplots of triangle love and struggles with hard life.
A good series cannot lack the main factor, the villain. Eddie's brother, who makes everyone's life harder with his cruelty, jealousy and greed. There is not one boring moment in this series. Its continuous events will keep you engaged from beginning to end.
The series is quite sad in a way. It shows the reality of life. I really pity Gallen's sister, in the beginning of the series, she seems like a really mean person. However, it is understandable that all she wants is a comfortable life, an escape out of her poverty. It is inspiring how determined Gallen is to have his own land. He is tricked into buying land up in the hill but he still sets his mind in working on the land. His character is unreasonable sometimes but it is understandable, as it is the way he is brought up. Gallen portrayed his role quite well.
Kathy was really convincing in the role of a strong and independent woman. Eddie Cheung did a good job in playing the role of a devoted lover as well. The love story between Kathy's and Eddie's characters was very poignant. I would highly recommend the series. Though the scenery is not as good as in Plain Love II, the plot, the pace, and the cast of the series are so much better.

Synopsis
A long time ago, when Sze Sai Lun (Bobby Au-Yeung) was eight years old, his mother brought him to his grandmother's house to stay for a few days. However, Sai Lun suddenly disappeared for three days, and when he came back home, he lost his memory and his right arm was disabled. Sai Lun's mother took all the blame and regretted it for years. To feel less regretful, she decided to train Sai Lun to not use his brains to do anything and helped him make all his important decisions. Sai Lun was born an intelligent boy, but because of his mother's actions, he became less intelligent.
Many years later, Sai Lun is now a grown man and becomes a judge. He has three wives; Chin Lai Shu (Annie Man), Pong Kot Oi (Lui San), and Ga Sau Yuk (Eileen Yeow). His first case at the new valley (where he now lives) was about stealing food. Mai Heung Yung (Kenix Kwok) and her friend Wong Tin Ba (Benny Chan) believe Sai Lun to be a horrible judge. They think he is a fool and a pathetic excuse for a figure of authority. Sai Lun finds a magical pillow when he went to the grave of a dead person who was involved with that case. Inside that magical pillow, there was a "Pillow God" (Lo Hoi Pang). This Pillow God gives Sai Lun many weird clues to help him solve his cases. This is because Pillow God wants Sai Lun to start using his head, then he could help him solve a case of his own....
Sai Lun finds out that the Pillow God is actually Tong Do Fook, in other words, Heung Yung's deceased grandfather. They find out that Heung Yung belonged to a wealthy family, but her family was slaughtered. Also, Wong Tin Ba is actually her little brother! Turns out that Heung Yung's family was slaughtered by someone they knew....
Tsang Gak Ming Chu (Tavia Yeung) is a princess, and also the god-sister of Sai Lun. She is very cheerful and playful, and falls in love with Tin Ba. Also, Sai Lun falls in love with Heung Yung, and they get married, making Heung Yung his fourth wife. However, their happy world gets turned upside down when Heung Yung believes that Sai Lun's father was actually the one who killed her family! But as they continue to investigate, they find out that there is more to this than it seems. Mai Heung Yung and Wong Tin Ba find out that the person who murdered their whole entire family...
...was Ming Chu's father.
Ming Chu's father and Heung Yung's father had switched places because they didn't want to go wherever they were going. Ming Chu's father was actually supposed to marry Heung Yung's mother. And Heung Yung's father was supposed to go ahead and become "Wong Yeh" (not exactly emperor, but the emperor's uncle or something). They had switched identities because both families had not seen these two men. However, Ming Chu's father was afraid that Heung Yung's father would let their secret out, and sent people to kill the entire family. Heung Yung also finds out that the boy who had saved her life that day was actually Sai Lun!
Tin Ba is very angry, and vows to get revenge. But Ming Chu is desperate and begs him to reconsider. She tells him that she cannot afford to see her father slain by her lover, and that she would go insane if it were to happen. But Tin Ba cannot just let this go, and goes off. Will Princess Ming Chu betray her own father? And will everything be normal for these four ever again?

He has a sense of humour and is like a naughty child. However, he has superior intelligence.
Review
Bobby Au-Yeung...he was great in the series, especially after seeing the ruby jewel and acting all crazy. I couldn't stop laughing! His acting as always been great. And I watched this before I watched The Bitter Bitten so this series was the first time that I had seen Benny Chan in a very long time! Benny is really cute and funny in the series, willing to do anything to protect his family and lover. But the one thing that I didn't like about him was that he's too rash. Like when he was tricked into believing that Bobby was the one who killed his family, he wanted revenge right away and it only resulted in Tavia getting hurt.
Tavia's character was cute and smart. She was indeed a mystery solver. I love how she was pretending to be a hobo and yet Bobby couldn't recognize her. She was always so active and jumpy in the series. Did I mention how good she is at crying? I think she's one of the few actresses who can actually cry. Plus, Lo Hoi Pang was good too! I like the parts where he hits Bobby's head when Bobby misunderstands the clues. He's just so awesome!
I didn't like Wong Yeh/Tsang Gak Jing Hung at all, obviously. He is so evil, killing innocent people just to cover his own butt. And Kenix's father in the series was so stupid! Why would you give up your identity to a stranger?! I mean, I would sort of understand if you knew the guy...but you didn't! And that makes you stupid!
This is random, but I liked Kenix's hair before she got married...very cute and unique, haha. My favourite couple in this series would be Tavia and Benny. They are a fresh couple and cute too. Both of them were playful and active in this series, making this couple so cute. My favourite scene was near the end when Benny finds out that Tavia lost the ability to use her legs and she was desperately trying to get back in her wheelchair. Benny saw and he started crying, it was so sad. And then he ran over and picked her up in his arms and said that he was going to take care of her. It was so touching!

ETERNITY
How long 20 episodes
Foreword Do you want to see Wong Fei in her first drama? She will be ina future period and also modern outfits because this is a science fiction story. I am very sorry that I can’t recall the details so please let me know if I’ve made any mistake since I watched it a long time ago.
Story/Introduction on characters
1. Liet Fung – Fong Chung Shun He works for a magazine as an editor. He doesn’t like to pry into other people’s affairs. However, he can’t help feeling curious why Jing Hong is so scared of Sai Chun. He falls for her and tries to protect her from harm upon knowing her real identity. His role doesn’t require much of him except to show his ‘man’ side.
2. Leng Hak Yeung – Lam Bo Yee He is a cop so he is very suspicious of Jing Hong’s identity. However, he can’t help being drawn to her as she is very independent and mysterious. Bo Yee was an ex-cop so he slips into the role comfortably.
3. Ying Chin/Sheng Sai Chun – Shum Lap Mun He is Emperor Ying Cheng’s cousin. He sets his eyes on Yim Chi and vows to woo her. But she keeps avoiding him, driving him nuts. Upon knowing that she takes the eternity pill to flee to present Hong Kong, he also swallows a pill. How has his love persisted for so many years!
He still preserves his immoral nature to others except to Jing Hong in this modern era. He looks very intimidating in his long pony tail. Wonder how Hung falls for him as he doesn’t even send her any signal?!
Poor man – he strives so hard to win Ping Yee in ‘Gentle Reflections’ in vain. He still fails in his attempt in her after a thousand years. Lap Mun shows that he acts well in drama – enough to make us forget that he acts more in movies and has little experience in dramas.
4. Ho Chun Fu – Kok Tak Shun He has wished Chin Wai to take over his science technology business but has to give in to her as her main hobby becomes her occupation. He keeps disapproving her to be with Hak Yeung because of his job. Upon knowing that Chin and Jing Hong are from the past, he is interested to keep them as his specimens to find out the secret of their longevity.
5. Bo Dip – Fung Hiu Mun She is Yim Chi’s close friend. She also swallows a pill to follow her to the present.
6. Yim Chi/Bo Jing Hong – Wong Fei She is a graceful dancer but never knows that her beauty can cause her so much trouble. She doesn’t love Chin so she feigns death by swallowing the pill. But the crafty Chin sees through her attempt to follow her to the present. Even though she changes her name, she can’t alter her looks.
Attractive, cold and quiet, she wants to lead a quiet life but men can't help being lured to her. Wong Fei was only required to keep a straight face all the time so I could hardly detect acting from her. i can only comment that she is very beautiful.
7. Ho Chin Wai – Hsuen Huen She has her mindset to do what she wants and she will get it in the end. She looks photography and enjoys her job. Her curiosity in Jing Hong is triggered but doesn’t expect her boyfriend to like her too.
8. Liet Yin – Chan Mui Hing She is Fung’s younger sister who is a party animal. She is attracted to Sai Chun but doesn’t know that his real motive is to find out whether Jing Hong is his beloved Yin Chi.
Song The title is ‘perturbed’ – which means动心. Unlike other themesongs which are sung in Cantonese, this is a Mandarin song. It shows well how love moves all. It is excellently sung by Wong Fei. I really love it very much. It is a pity that she hardly sings these days.
Conclusion
The story is only average – that is why I can hardly remember the details. What puzzles me is the number of successful immortal pills produced in the Qin dynasty. I can understand how Chin gets it so easily but how do the two lowly madiens get them? Is it so massively produced?
But it really shows that love can’t be compelled. Chin’s long pursue for his own desire still ends up in smoke because Yim chi simply dislikes him. There are no affections – only fear in her eyes whenever she sees him. I must say that the title was well-chosen – Yim Chi is regarded as Chin’s 1000 year lover although she might describe him as her long-lost bane.
All will be captivated by Wong Fei’s beauty. She used the name, Wong Jing Mun when she first started out. She was every inch a graceful maiden with her watery eyes and gestures. Her weakness will be her height but luckily all the guys are nearly 6 footers to compliment her well. It makes it very convincing that three men fall for her.
Acting wise, we can’t fault her as she seldom acts. I can only say that she acts the same as she is in real life. She has not failed us in capturing the attention with Lap Mun although he calls the shots by acting so much better than the rest.
This is also Hsuen Huen’s debut drama so she seems a bit stiff in many scenes. So is Bo Yee in his first attempt too. It can be quite fun to see how both started out. It is impossible to see how these artistes acting together again as many have retired from showbiz. So you should not miss it if you have the chance.
PS I do not own this review. This is kind of a stupid movie,I like it though, because Liet Fung is so stupid which made I hate him. Shum Lap Mun is so handsome, but I don't like his charater either. Wong Fei had a ancient beauty, no one in my family like her, except me-a little bit; she look better in modern time. I like the song, because its rymth, it sound good & its Mandarin-kinda special, most of the TVB series I've seen is Cantonese.

Synopsis: This interesting drama revolves around a private school known as WDPS. The scene began with Miss Wong (Kenix Kwok), who just started her teaching profession at WDPS. The former old principal of WDPS had a heart attack, so he had to retire early. Ji Cai (Bobby Au-Yeung), was a high-ranking accountant and he arrived home after his successful business trip. Most unfortunately, Zheng Liang (Michael Tao) on the way broke Ji cai’s antique vase. Since then, both of them bore a grudge against each other.
Ji Cai had just settled a major business contract, and he was expecting to be promoted to Financial Manager. But, to his surprise and indignation, his boss requested him to be the principal of WDPS, so as to cut down its deficit budget and increase the miserable intake of 200-odd students.
Zheng Liang was a happy-go-lucky teacher in WDPS, who always arrived late for school, and would leave the workplace on the dot after school hours. On the other hand, Miss Wong was a very dedicated and caring teacher, and she disliked Zheng Liang’s working attitude.
On the second day of school, Vice-principal Man thought that she would be promoted to the principal. So, she entered the Principal’s office, taking the room as hers. At this moment, Ji Cai entered the room and was quite amazed to see her sitting in his seat. After some clarification, Vice-principal Man realised that she had made a mistake and she was totally embarrassed.
When all the teachers gathered in the office to welcome the arrival of the new principal, it was then that Ji Cai saw Zheng liang, and he was very sarcastic towards him. Zheng Liang felt the sarcasm, and he thought that the principal would take his revenge.
Ji Cai had a meeting with the teachers, and he wanted a proposal for improving the school. Only Miss Wong readily agreed, while the other slack teachers were rather reluctant, especially Zheng Liang. Zheng Liang was bad-mouthing the principal in the toilet, and Ji Cai heard everything. In order to reduce the school’s expenditure, Ji Cai decided to sack one of the teachers, and Zheng liang was naturally his target. But later, another teacher was sacked for having sexual relations with a student, and Zheng Liang was saved from this retrenchment ordeal.
Uncle Biao (Chun Pui) was Ji Cai’s uncle, and he came to Ji Cai’s house to stay. Ji Cai, who preferred to live a private life, was quite displeased and shocked with his uncle’s decision to live with him. So, he took the initiative to find a hostel room for him.
Meanwhile, many events occurred at school, and Vice-principal Man was very unhappy that she had to lead an inexperience person (Ji Cai) in the school management. She was also displeased when the principal took in a student with a bad record, and she accused him of trying to increase the income of the school without taking into serious consideration the possible negative influence the student had on other students.
When the student, Ah Yeung San, encountered Miss Wong, he was very rude to her, and it turned out that Miss Wong was his stepmother. He had always thought that Miss Wong was the one responsible for breaking up his family, and he never accepted her as a stepmother. Miss Wong was upset and troubled, as she had promised her deceased husband that she would take good care of his son. Later, Ah Yeung San’s grandmother confronted Miss Wong for giving him a demerit for fighting in school, and Miss Wong was devastated when she thought of her past.
Uncle Biao went to Ji Cai’s house to fix some household items and to cook a sumptuous dinner for Ji cai. Despite Ji cai’s several reminders not to touch his expensive computer and hi-fi, Uncle Biao started to dismantle the parts. Uncle Biao later went to buy some soy sauce, and he met Zheng Liang’s uncle and auntie. They decided to have the dinner together. When Ji Cai reached home, he was surprised to find an empty kitchen with no dinner fixed. Then, he received a call from Uncle Biao and realised that they would be having dinner with the family he detested. Zheng Liang reached home, and was equally surprised to see the principal. During the dinner, both of them exchanged words of sarcasm, and it ended up with a mahjong game between the Tsangs and the Kars.
Ji Cai sent Uncle Biao home, and he thought of the heart-warming dinner – something he had not experienced for years. Later, he saw some notes stuck on his expensive computer, and he was rather agitated as he thought it was a note of apology. But it turned out that Uncle Biao had fixed both the computer and the hi-fi, and Ji cai was deeply impressed. He wanted to give a call to Uncle Biao to express his gratitude, and he saw the news of a fire breaking out in the hostel that his uncle lived in. In a moment of anxiety, he rushed out of the house, and he met Uncle Biao in the lift. Ji Cai was so relieved, and he decided that his uncle should live with him.
Zheng Liang met the girl of his dreams Ying en (Shirley Yeung), and with the help of Uncle Biao, he got to watch an opera show with her. Before he could actually get Ying en’s number, Uncle Biao called him, and Ying en later ran off to catch her bus. Zheng Liang was disappointed, but the next day, he met her in the school. It turned out that she had taken up a job as a relief teacher, and Zheng Liang was delirious. They began dating, and later due to several obligations, they separated and Ying en went overseas to further her studies.
Ji Cai wanted to work on the business contract, but he found out that his subordinate, Wilson, had cunningly taken over his job, and he was very aggravated by Wilson’s comments. Uncle Biao later worked at WDPS as a school care-taker, and he met up with his old classmate, Vice-principal Man. Both of them bickered at times, and the vice principal had a bad impression of Uncle Biao. As time went by, the vice-principal found herself falling in love with Uncle Biao. However, Uncle Biao was rather shocked, and he wanted to distance himself away from her.
As Ah Yeung San’s grandmother had a stroke, Miss Wong took in Ah Yeung San, and as time went by, their relations improved and they got along well. Ji Cai had already implemented several policies, such that he managed to lower the deficit budget. In the meantime, he fell in love with Miss Wong and started to woo her, and she never rejected his advances. Later, she thought that Ah Yeung San was not very approving of her relationship, and her past reminded her that she should spend more time with her step-son, so she rejected him in the end.
Though the school had lost in the Chinese literary quiz competition, Ji Cai later decided to hone other aspects such as sports. He went on a search for an excellent athlete, after seeing the pathetic “cream of the crop” in the school. His secretary, Ah Shum, fell in love with him, but later he rejected her as he had no feelings for her. Ji Cai found an athlete who could run fast, and he offered him a scholarship, despite objections raised by Miss Wong and the vice principal.
This athlete later won the first gold medal in twenty years for the school, and Ji Cai’s boss was very delighted, as he had a chance to mock his long-time business rival, who also set up a school.
Zheng Liang, over some time, had changed and he became a more dedicated teacher. He then fell in love with Miss Wong, and both of them had a romantic time together. Initially, Ji Cai wanted to vie with Zheng Liang for Miss Wong’s affections, but later he backed out of the love triangle and sacrificed himself. Miss Wong and Zheng Liang became romantically-involved, but later Miss Wong found out that Zheng Liang was the one indirectly responsible for causing her husband’s death, and she ended the relationship in a huff.
The school was doing quite well, but suddenly, Ji Cai’s boss decided to demolish the school and develop the land for commercial use. Through all the students’ and teachers' united efforts, Ji Cai’s boss was touched, and he requested to have a student scoring 5 As in the upcoming examinations.
Every student worked very hard, including the teachers who gave extra tuition. In the end, 5 students scored a total of 5 As, and Ji Cai’s boss decided to demolish the school. Uncle Biao later turned up, declaring that he had scored 5As, and since he was a part of the school, it should not be demolished. Ji Cai’s boss relented and agreed not to demolish the school, and everyone was elated.
Ji Cai found out that he could not forget his love for Miss Wong, and he started to woo Miss Wong. She was rather perplexed, as she still had feelings for Zheng Liang, but she also felt a sense of gratitude towards Ji Cai for donating his bone marrow to Ah Yeung San. Both Zheng Liang and Ji Cai started to pile pressure on her unconsciously, to the point that she fainted. In the end, she decided to go overseas to further her studies, so as to sort out her thoughts. In the plane, she heard a song that reminded her of the warmth she felt in Zheng Liang’s arms during the journey to the hospital, and she suddenly felt an impulse to see Zheng liang.
Then, she met Ji Cai and her face revealed a sense of disappointment. Ji Cai knew that he was not the one for her, and he stepped aside to reveal Zheng Liang. Miss Wong smiled, and both of them hugged happily, with Ji Cai giving his blessings to them.
Character analysis: Bobby Au-Yeung – Ji Cai, the principal of WDPS His acting is fantastic, and I think he makes you feel involved with the serial drama. Honestly speaking, I always like his shows, his funny character and marvellous acting. In this serial, I love the scenes where he exchanged words of sarcasms with Zheng Liang in the toilet. It is always so funny and hilarious to watch Zheng Liang’s alarmed face when he was caught badmouthing Ji Cai, and the “merciless” expression given by Ji Cai during these encounters. This is one of the reasons why I love watching this show. Moreover, I am deeply touched by Ji Cai’s sacrificial spirit, when he voluntarily backed out of the love triangle, bearing the emotional backlash all by himself. In the end, he still gave his blessings to the couple, and this shows how magnanimous and sacrificial he was.
Kenix Kwok – Miss Wong She acted pretty well, especially the parts when she felt vexed about the love triangle. Previously, I watched one of her shows “Take My Word for It”, and I realised that some of her actions were quite similar to the one in this show. But overall, she managed to act out the role of a dedicated and caring teacher and mother, and I thought it was pretty good.
Michael Tao – Zheng Liang Well, his acting was also quite good, especially the parts when he was caught badmouthing the principal. Quite hilarious, I must say. But, there were some parts of the romance, when I found his expressions a bit unnatural. His happy-go-lucky attitude hit a warm spot with most people, but what I dislike about his character is that he can easily love and forget about one person. Take Ying en for example. How can one person so easily forget about his love? And that is not love, but a case of infatuation.
Chun Pui, Uncle Biao The Mr Nice Guy next door, who knows how to fix everything and anything under the sun. He was very receptive to other people, and his concern for his nephew (despite the treatment from Ji Cai) was commendable. That is one of reasons why I like this character.
Shirley Yeung, Ying en A sweet lady, except that she can be a bit too stubborn in terms of her teaching. She takes everything seriously, and her obsession with furthering her studies can be a little exasperating at times. But her kind heart is one of the pluses. What I am amazed is that I never thought a demure lady would actually have boxing as her leisure activity!
PS I do not own this review.

How long : 20 episodes
Foreword
Those who are eager to see the late Cho Tak Wah, Mai Shuet and Man Tse Leung working again after ‘Taiji Master’ can watch this drama. It is on how a coolie gains success through hardship. The setting is in the 20s. It was also Man Tse Leung's last drama with TVB.
Story/Introduction on characters
1. Lee Cheong Wong – Man Tse Leung He is a helpful man to save the Wong brothers. Because of this, he offends his boss to lose the fireman job that he buys with his savings. The worst comes for him when Kam Wing sells him off to Indonesia as a coolie. He has to leave China and is separated from his family. He gets to know Yuk Nam and she wanders with him to create job opportunities to help the Chinese coolies. Cheong Wong becomes a rich man now but is still as humble as before to let his fellow coolies and families stay with him in his big mansion. They make up his family that he has lost.
Although Yuk Nam has done a lot for him, he can’t forget Sau Lan. At the end of 10 years later, he miraculously finds Sau Lan but really rich with another man. He begs her and his children to return to him without success. His children want to see him but are stopped by Sau Lan. There is a touching scene when he stands in the rain for hours to see them. When he is rejected, he returns home crestfallen. The others are shocked when he faints and slips down from the stairs. Nursing him when he runs a high fever because of this, they help to persuade Sau Lan to return to him.
Man is very much underused and underrated. But he is a man’s man - what a man’s mannerisms should be like : manly , firm and solid. However, I have wished that he reduces some weight. A coolie shouldn’t look as macho as him as they suffer a lot of hardhip and malnutrition.
2. Wong San – Lam Mun Lung He is also another righteous coolie. Seeing how Sui turns evil, San is forced to combine forces with Cheong Wong to deal with him. He goes through all odds to marry his sweetheart, Siu Yin although many oppose to do this to his late close friend. Seeing that he doesn’t repent for his mistake, he has to shoot him dead. He has to be in jail for 25 years but Siu Yin still insists on waiting for him. Mun Lung is in his best here as a ill-fated but strong man.
3. Wong Sui – Lam Kar Wah He is also a coolie and is San’s elder brother. He tries to get intimate with Siu Yin in vain. He is unsatisfied with his life and is worked up upon seeing that San is in love with Siu Yin. Thus he works with the westerners to do evil deeds. He has a tragic end for being too ruthless.
4. Yuen Ah Kuai – Kwan Hoi San He is Sau Lan’s father who opposes to Sau Lan leaving China but has to give in upon seeing how she suffers.
5. Lui Sing Fai – Wong Wai He is a doctor and nurses Sau Lan to health. He treats her children as his own. Seeing how Sau Lan pins for Cheong Wong, he lets them reunited again.
6. Yuen Sau Lan – Mai Shuet She is separated from Cheong Wong after he is forced to leave China. But this doesn’t deter her from searching for him with their 4 children. She can’t find him and lands up falling ill in Singapore. She marries Sing Fai out of gratitude and is torn between the two men.
She keeps lying to Cheong Wong that she is Sau Lan as she has a new name. But her protests soon become weak as he is very persistent. She finally returns to him. Superb acting from Mai Shuet as usual to act as the gentle but strong wife.
7. Leng Yuk Nam – Lo Lum She receives western education and doesn’t behave like a traditional woman. She helps her father to run the mine and gets to know Cheong Wong. She admires his guts and potential. Supporting his belief, she leaves home with determination and creates her career with him. She falls for him but knows that his heart isn’t for her. Still, she stands by him all the time.
She is down when seeing how Cheong Wong tries to win back his family again. She can’t hide her anxiety for him when he falls critically ill because of this. Who isn’t touched when seeing how hurt she is when she tends to him the whole night but he keeps calling his wife’s name.
It is a big breakthrough for Lam. She impersonates well as Yuk Nam as a man in a suit to discuss business with clients. Yet, she can be so endearing and feminine whenever she is with Cheong Wong.
8. Lo Siu Yin – Kok Ho Ying She is bought by an old coolie as his wife. After her fiancé dies of an illness, she becomes a couple with San.
9. Chow Kam Wing – Lo Lok Lum He is the ruthless boss to get Cheong Wong shipped off as a slave. Thanks to him, Cheong Wong is torn away from family. He also goes through a hell lot of struggle.
10. Leng Chong San – Cho Tak Wah Yuk Nam is his only child so he handles his business to her. But she lets him down to fall for a coolie and run away with him. Both get into a cold war for years till she achieves success to return home.
Interesting Notes
The drama was shot in Malaysia and China. TVB never saves money on dramas which involve Man Tse Leung.
Many have said that Kar Wah and Tse Leung looked like brothers. And in reality, they were as close as brothers after ‘Dong Doi Nam Yee’. Kar Wah looked forward to work with Tse Leung as brothers again. Although he was disappointed this time, they were at least working in the same drama.
Hor Ying and Mun Lung started dating and got married because of this drama. They called this drama their matchmaker.
Song
The themesong is ‘The Heart Harmonies With the Voice’. It is a very fast-paced song. The subtheme is ‘Forever This Day’ which is a touching and slow song. Both are from Lau Tak Wah and are in his ‘Really Forever’ Mandarin album. I really love both songs. It still puzzles me why they are not included in his other Cantonese albums. He came to Singapore to promote this album in 1995 and had a thumbprint session instead of an autograph session. Tak Wah had injured his hand so he could not sign. I bought this cassette and had kept it since then. This was a very special present indeed.
Conclusion
This drama is totally underrated and forgotten but nonetheless superb. It shows how the coolies work hard for their futures but lazy ones will succumb to vices or greed easily. Although Tse Leung and Mai Shuet have not worked for a long time, they still compliment each other well. The same can be said for Mun Long and Hor Ying too. You will definitely not be disappointed.

TRIP TO SANTA CRUZ BEACH
This trip was very long time ago, when I still live at my old house, but I also forgot to post it up, I went to Santa Cruz beach with my sister & her friends. There were more pictures, but I don't have it here, I only have it on myspace. There are two or three pictures of the sea lions, two pictures that I buried myself in the sand & it was so funny, and three or four pictures of the night sceen. We ate there, my sister fed the seagull & it almost bite her. Now, take a look at my pictures.
TRIP TO THE TEMPLE
This trip was quite long already, but I forgot to write about it. That day was a rainy day, I went to that temple in Sacramento with my mom, her friend called Nancy, her ladyboss called Vicky (now my friend, too). When we go to pick up Vicky, Nancy missed that exits on freeway, and we got lost; this is a bad thing & a good thing: a bad thing is that we have to find a way to get back; a goos thing is that when we got lost, a big windfield is next to us (which interest me the most, because I love to see the windfield), I had lots of time to record the windfield with my digital camera, so fun. It took us a hour more to get back to Vicky's salon to pick her up. On the way to the salon (actually when we het near the salon) the windfield was right next to us, I was so excited & recorded lots of videos. When we got to the salon, Vicky is having a client, so we ate & wait for about a hour more. Later, it took about 2 hours more to get to the temple, we passed farm (which made me bored), so I went to sleep for only 15 minutes, then I just sit there & wait until we get to the temple. At the temple, there were fire crackers (people always have it although it is not Lunar New Year), and it was very very fun. I went around the temple with Vicky & Nancy & did a lot of traditional things which I don't know what it called. Vicky bought me a souvenir, it is a cell phone charm made out of jade, so cute & nice. We (Nancy, Vicky, me) even when on the high part of that temple & took pictures. It was so windy up there, we had to walk hard, stand still, so we not going to get wash away. My mom didn't go around with us, actually she did, but when we already done, because she have to take out... I guess we can call it tributes. Now, why don't you take a look at the pictures & watch the videos that I record (there are some pictures that I took on the way to the salon & the temple but it was too blurry, so I decided no going to show it, sorry). Sorry I can't upload the video because I don't have it on youtube, I tryed to use blogger uploader, but it takes so long.
The top two pictures are the bridge that I took from the high part of the temple from two different distances.
This is some kind of legend creature concrete that I found in the temple, I, mom & Vicky says its cute, my brother & sister says its scary. I took this picture.
Vicky took this picture for me on the high part of that temple, the building behind me is the temple. I took all the picture I'm going to show later.
This is a part in front of the temple, sorry I don't know how to explain about this picture
I took this picture took this picture when I was on the stair to the high part of the temple
I took this picture from the high part of the temple
The top three pictures are the lake (maybe a pond) adjacent to the temple & the brigde, I took it from three different distances.
GAME OF DECEIT
This a very funny drama, even though I never watch it, but all my family said it verygood. The themesong is good, too, but its short.
Cast: Nick Cheung Ka Fai - Yue Chong Zheng Jessica Hsuan - Gong Yuk Ling Chian Ka Lok - Ah Jeng Shirley Chueng Yuk san - Chian Bo Yee Yuen King Dan - Gao Gun Yi
Warning! Spoiler review! Detailed plot of the series.
First scene of the series, you see a taoist tricking money from peasants. Then Nick Cheung Ka Fai arrives dressed as a rich man holding a box that seems to contain a lot of money. But this time, the taoist is the one who gets tricked. Actually, the taoist's trick is to have someone hidden inside a huge caldron who exchanges the money with rocks or puts some more money--depending on the taoist--and afterwards, the taoist gets an excuse when the money disappears. But anyway, Nick tricks lots of money from the taoist, because in his box, there's only an urn for urine.
Nick cares a lot for his father who thinks Nick is a very honest man. Nick has bought some ginseng and asked a man to give it to his father, but when he comes back home, he sees his dad throwing away the ginseng as garbage because his dad thinks he got tricked. Anyway, Nick and Chian Ka Lok, his best friend, goes to the brothel. In another room in the brothel, Jessica Hsuan, dressed as a man, is getting tested by other men. Jessica comes from the "Best Merchandise's Evaluation" family. She knows like everything. Jessica went to the bathroom with her maid, Yuen King Dan, who is also dressed as a man. Nick had to go too, but he got kicked out by Yuen King Dan. Then afterwards, Shirley suddenly appeared at the brothel with her personnel. By this time, the men with Jessica had invited the 4 prettiest women of the brothel, and Shirley makes a jealous commotion because she is Jessica's fiancee. They even contested to see who is really a "pretty" woman and Shirley wins. Chian Ka Lok is captivated by Shirley's beauty.
Back home, we discover that Jessica is a woman. She has dressed up as a man all her life, because her family business can only be directed by man. Since her father is weak, she has decided to direct the business by herself. So even if Shirley is naughty, she doesn't say anything because she feels guilty about lying to her.
Next day, Jessica has a big business meeting. She has to prove that her customer's painting is a real one. For that, she has to argue with 4 other auction men. Nick has made another trick to attend the meeting, and because of him, she proves that her customer's painting was real. Jessica's future father-in-law has to make new coins with the name of the new king on it. But it turns out that the coins aren't heavy enough and it could cause big problems in the future to the family. So he has to make all the coins again to be more heavy. But bronze is very expensive... so Jessica has to find a way to help her father-in-law. Finally, she comes up with the idea of buying the coins of peasants to melt and make new coins out of... To think of this solution, Jessica has been walking on the streets and in a mini-casino, she sees Nick and they have another argument over how to win money... Jessica wins the argument so Nick isn't happy... Then just after, Shirley appears in the streets and she injures an old lady. There shouldn't be any problem, but Nick appears and makes it one... so he forces Jessica to drink a very disgusting wine, leaving her no choice. Back home, she vomits...
To buy the coins from peasants, Jessica and her father-in-law has opened a few stores where they buy 90 coins and give back like 1 dollar... so everyone is very interested... Nick doesn't have enough coins, so he concocts a new trick... He makes people think that there's gold inside the coin, so everyone buys his coins, like 50 coins for 1 dollar... So no one sold it anymore to Jessica's stores. Jessica has discovered his trick and is able to put him and Chian Ka Lok in jail. Nick's father visits them at jail and when he learns that it is Jessica's fault that Nick is in the jail, he is very angry and goes to Jessica's business.
It turns out that in the past, Nick's father was making a feather blanket for a client, but however, there were missing feathers in the blanket and they accused Nick's father of stealing it... Nick's father then asked Jessica's father to help him to prove his innocence... Jessica's father was supposed to be able to prove Nick's father of his innocence, but that day, one of his servants came in announcing that his wife has lost lots of blood and was almost dying and also the baby was a girl... It was a great shock to Jessica's father, so he didn't think of anything else and told that Nick's father was the thief.... Nick's father was forced to close his business... It is only afterwards, when his wife died one night, Jessica's father, drunk, came back to Nick's father business establishment that he discovered that the feathers were caught on the roof in the process of making the blanket and it wasn't stolen... But Jessica's father couldn't find Nick's father to apologize... After telling the story, her father tells her to release Nick and Chian Ka Lok.
Her father-in-law isn't happy about releasing Nick and Chian Ka Lok, so he arrested them again. During the court case, Jessica has to prove that Nick and Chian Ka Lok had been tricking the population.... But Nick and Chian Ka Lok aren't found guilty and are released because the coin that Jessica used does really contain gold : Chian Ka Lok's master, the man who had raised Chian Ka Lok has put gold in it.... But Chian Ka Lok almost revealed the truth to Shirley when she used her beauty to make him talk, fortunately, Nick arrives in time to stop him...
After a while, Jessica discovered that it's Chian Ka Lok's master who stopped her plans. When she told it to her father-in-law, he looks really scared. Actually, it's very easy to recognize Chian Ka Lok's master, because his 2 hands had been cut off. Finally, Jessica finds a way to distinguish the coins which are only made of bronze and the ones which contains gold... She only have to put it in salt water, the bronze coins will float while the gold coins will sink... Unfortunately for her, Chian Ka Lok's master found a way to stop Jessica's solution. He then tells Chian Ka Lok and Nick to put vinegar into the well, because the effect of salt will disappear because of the vinegar, so again, Nick and Chian Ka Lok are found not guilty. Jessica's father-in-law decides to meet Chian Ka Lok's master and they had a talk alone and you can see that the father-in-law is very worried because he's in great troubles and only the master can help him... finally, they asked Jessica and Nick to exchange some boxes. In Nick's box, there's a bottle of vinegar--that explains to Jessica how come her solution didn't work and in Jessica's box, there was money one the top, but in the bottom, there were some really precious white jade.
Episodes 6-10 Chian Ka Lok's master is injuring himself and Chian Ka Lok discovered, so his master has no choice but beat Chian Ka Lok too. Chian Ka Lok faints and is in coma... the master has hidden the money... Next day, when Nick comes in, the master told him it's Jessica's father-in-law's men whom had beaten them up like that... Nick wants to avenge them, so he goes to Jessica's house... then, he discovered that she is actually a woman because she was getting ready to take a bath...
Court case continues and this time, Jessica would have proved Nick's trick, but Nick arrives and then reveals that Jessica is a woman. He takes off his shirt and tells Jessica to do the same... So the judge thinks it's Jessica's family who has been tricking population with the coins affair. Jessica's family got in trouble because the minister who has asked her father-in-law to make the coin thinks they had tricked him and anyway, he knows that the coins won't be ready in time, so he wants to kill the father-in-law's and Jessica's family... he sent them all to jail, unfortunately, Jessica's father-in-law dies... and on his funeral days, soldiers come and closed his house, and takes Shirley to jail. Jessica's family got into the same situation. Only Jessica's maid got saved and her task is to keep the family business's sign, it can't touch the ground. They all get in jail and Jessica's father is sick, so she is very worried. There's also Shirley who is blaming Jessica's for her dad death and also what is happening to her. Jessica feels miserable, she didn't want to, she was forced, she had no choice.
Nick is getting suspicious. Chian Ka Lok is still in coma and Yeun King Dan has met Nick because she blames him for what is happening to her mistress. So Nick is very suspicious about whether if Chian Ka Lok really got beaten up by Jessica's father-in-law's men... Also, he notices behavior changes in Chian Ka Lok's master and also, Chian Ka Lok's master is using expensive stuff to treat Chian Ka Lok. Finally, Nick found some jade powder and goes ask Jessica what it is... he finally, discovered that it's Chian Ka Lok's master fault, that it's him who had beaten up Chian Ka Lok and has caused the death of the father-in-law and put Jessica in jail. The story is :
Chian Ka Lok's master and Jessica's father-in-law were friends. The father-in-law was only a soldier protecting a very expensive statue. On the statue, there were like 100 jade hands and he planned to steal them, but he needed the master's help. Finally, when they succeed in stealing the hands, the father-in-law got rid of the master... he has also cut the master hands and he fell from the cliff... but the master was still alive and wanted to avenge himself... Finally, the house got burnt and Nick was only able to rescued Chian Ka Lok, after knocking some times on his head, Chian Ka Lok woke up...
Then they wanted to rescue Jessica, her father, and Shirley... Yeun king Dan and Chian Ka Lok wanted to rescue them by fighting, but they both got caught and were also sent to death sentence... Because he still feels guilty about Jessica's situation, he comes to help them... The painting is supposed to make the family of the owner get lots of kids, but his son dies... and they think it's because of the painting... anyway, Nick proves that there's only 100 birds, because like in real life, female aren't person, so in the painting, one of the bird is a female, so you can't count it... anyway, to regain the name of their business, Jessica's father wants her to marry Nick, but she doesn't agree... Finally, her father discovered that Nick has seen her naked... so he went to talk to Nick's father... It's only now that Nick's father discovered that his son isn't as honest as he thought. So he too, is forcing Nick to marry Jessica... But both disagree... The 2 fathers make them drink tea and turns out there's sleeping medicine in it... next morning, when they woke up, Nick and Jessica are both in the same bed with only pajamas on... So they are forced to get married, but Nick insulted Jessica, making her angry, so she runs away... (Actually, it's very funny... it's really the first time, that I see parents using this trick to get their children married )
On both sides, the fathers are threatening their children... Jessica's father tried to hang himself, but she rescued him in time, he only fainted... as for Nick's father, he decided to write all of Nick's wrong actions on a shirt and wear it in the streets... he got so angry that he fainted too... As for all the dowry money, Nick takes it all and gives it to Chian Ka Lok. He told Chian Ka Lok to hide it somewhere... Then, Shirley appeared and she asked for money, so Chian Ka Lok gives her all the wedding money, she runs away with it... On that night, Jessica and Nick argue for the one who will get the bed. When he learns about the money, Nick got angry but forgave Chian Ka Lok...

Finally, they came up with a solution. Years before, Emperor Hin's grandfather has asked Jessica's business to build 4 statues, now known as "Four Sacred Statues". Because he was so satisfied with their work, he named the business as number 1 in the world. He even left scriptures and because of those scriptures, the official has to let Jessica go. Then Emperor Hin charges Jessica and Nick to find the "Four Sacred Statues", because it contains a very important secret. As for the official, he wants to find the statues too, because he knows that this secret could affect Emperor Hin and it could let him become king.
Nick and Jessica investigate a long time before figuring out where the "Four Sacred Statues" were hidden. Then they go to search for it, but they are followed by the official's men. When they found the statues, they are only able to hide the 4th statue because it was the most light. As for the 3 other statues, they are taken by the official's men. But it turns out under the statues, there's scriptures and it got printed on the floor so Nick and Jessica brings it back to the Emperor Hin. The scriptures tell the story of Emperor Hin's grandfather fighting for the throne and why he was afraid of his son becoming Emperor. Nick and Jessica finally discover the rest of the secret in the 4th statue. Different from the 3 other statues, the scriptures aren't under the statue, but inside of it. Anyway, it tells that Emperor Hin's father wasn't a Manchu, but Han. When Emperor Hin discovered the secret, he asked Nick and jessica to destroy the statue, because this secret could make him lose the throne.
Because of money, Shirley has agreed to help the official to find the 4th statue. She threatened Nick to give her the statue, if not, she'll tell Jessica that they slept together. So Nick has to make a plan to give Shirley the statue because he don't want Jessica to know. He tricks them to have a false statue, but it ended up the official and Shirley had the real statue. Also, Jessica got suspicious of Nick because he was acting weird, so she had followed him. She got spotted by Shirley, so Shirley acted as if Nick was her lover and they were running away... Anyway, Nick got slapped and Jessica fainted. Yuen King Dan brought her back home and Nick left because even Chian Ka Lok thought that Nick treated Shirley badly, so he got angry at Nick.
Jessica has to face the Emperor. When he asked her if the task was completed and she answered no, he got angry. Then Nick appeared and he would have gotten executed, but the official appeared and saved him. Then the official forces Nick and Jessica to end their relationship, so Jessica agreed by drinking the wine. From then on, Nick and her weren't related anymore. She did so because she didn't want Nick to get executed. Because if they weren't related anymore, he wouldn't be related to her family business.
At the official's house, Nick asked him why he had rescued him. The official forced Nick to reveal where the scriptures were in the 4th statue. Nick had no choice but to help the official, because it turns out that in the wine Jessica has drunk, there was poison. And the antidote was hidden in his necklace, so if Nick wanted to rescue Jessica, he had no choice other than helping him. As for Jessica, she is pregnant, that's why she fainted. When Chian Ka Lok heard about her pregnancy, he went to the official's house to announce the news to Nick, but Nick has to act cool. Then, Chian Ka Lok got spotted, but he got rescued by Yeun King Dan. However, because of saving him, Yuen King Dan got injured and she is trapped in the official house. She hides herself in Shirley's room and is surprised that Shirley rescued her. They had a talk about what is true love. Afterwards, Shirley go to the official's room.
Next day, in the court, Jessica presented another 4th statue, telling the one of the official is a false one. Then, Nick appeared and they got into an argument and Nick wins, so Jessica left the court. Nick has to prove which one is the true statue, but turned out that in Nick's trick, the official's statue is also a false one. Then, they read the secret in Jessica's statue and say that the Emperor knew that some bad minister would create problem and plan to take over the throne... Then, in a poem, they figured out that it was the official who was the bad minister. The official was really angry because Nick has betrayed him and tell him that Jessica will die. But Jessica appeared and ate the antidote in front of him : Shirley went to the official room and slept with him. He figured out she was still a virgin, that she never slept with Nick. To reward her, he told her to choose anything and she chose the necklace, containing the antidote. Yuen King Dan was standing outside of the room and heard everything. Shirley asked to meet Jessica and she gave her the antidote. So Jessica tries to meet Nick and told them for their plan, about creating another statue. Finally, the official got executed.
As for Shirley, she decided to leave for another land. Just before, she has a talk with Chian Ka Lok and told him that Yuen King Dan was really concerned about him. Chian Ka Lok answered he understands. Even if Yuen King Dan wasn't as pretty as her, she was the one who cared for him and he would never forget it. Actually, Yuen King Dan had listened to their conversation... then Shirley left. On the boat, she met a person that looks exactly like Jessica when she was dressed as a man, except this guy has a mustache. And then, we see both of them, standing on the boat.
As for Chian Ka Lok and Yuen King Dan, Chian Ka Lok admit his love and asked Yuen King Dan to marry him. She answered that she'll answer him when Jessica have given birth to her child.
Few months later, it's one month anniversary of Nick's children. Jessica has given birth to twins... the 2 grandfathers are arguing about which one is their grandson, because one has Nick's family name, the other, Jessica's family name. Finally, their name was written on their clothes, so both grandpas had to exchange babies. Then, they asked Yuen King Dan about her decision. Jessica went to talk to her, and discovered that Yuen King Dan was worried, she was afraid that Chian Ka Lok would still love Shirley, but after a misunderstanding, she agreed to marry him.
Finally, Yuen King Dan and Chian Ka Lok got wedded, then Emperor Hin appeared. Everyone is afraid that the Emperor wants to keep the secret and decided to kill everyone who knew the secret, but he just came to give a present : he honored the business as "Number 1 Appraiser in China". Then, everyone lived happily ever after...

Nick's father and father-in-law are in the capital, his father-in-law wants to transfer their business to the capital. Nick then told them what happened and they search for a solution.
